It is helpful to have someone help you out in your measurements. The measurement process can take anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. It is always good to measure twice to ensure accuracy of your measurements. Using the RH Custom Suit Shirt Measurement Form, fill out all the information highlighted in yellow.
There are two forms of measurements body measurements and finished measurements. Body measurements are measurements directly off of your body with your best fitting shirt. A finished measurement is taken directly off of your best fiitting shirt when not worn and laid on a flat surface.
Record your measurements in inches, rounding to the nearest quarter inch. On the measurement form, indicate whether your measurement is a body or finished measurement.
For accuracy you may measure your body and then measure your favorite fitting shirt. See the
Finished Shirt Measurement Guide on how to measure a finished shirt.
For example, you measure your chest on your body to be 32 inches, you then measure your best fitting shirt, lay your shirt flat on a flat surface. Measure the back of the shirt from end to end. You determine that the length of the back of the shirt in the chest area is 19.5 inches. On the form for the chest indicate 32 , 19.5. This will give the master tailor a better idea of how to custom tailor your shirt. You can also just indicate just indicate the body measurement and the master tailor will add their padding to best fit your shirt.
